Rural vs. City...why?

Did you know that the City of Rocky Ford and the Rocky Ford Rural Fire Protection District are two separate governing entities with separate board of directors, and separate budgets? The Rocky Ford Rural Fire Protection District(RFRFPD) protects 763 square miles that includes the City of Rocky Ford. Through a Inter-Governmental Agreement with the City of Rocky Ford which states that RFRFPD will provide all the fire equipment necessary to protect the entire district and the city. The city thus provides the qualified personnel to operate the equipment. So, with the city providing the manpower and the RFRFPD providing the equipment, then this is what provides the necessary and very important life safety, property conservation, and incident stabilization services to our taxpayers.
